Wintre Mix

Heavy rainfall affects much of the United States and Canada, affecting aviation, transportation, power generation and distribution, winter recreation, ecology, and hydrology.
To address these challenges, an experiment (WINTRE-MIX for Winter Precipitation Type Research Multi-scale Experiment) will be undertaken by a consortium involving our customer NRC. For this mission, NRC asked us to host the PLANET ground server in our mutualized infrastructure instead of theirs as it was done until now. As well, we have worked on the integration of new weather products: ECCC radar image (see https://eccc-msc.github.io/open-data/msc-data/obs_radar/readme_radar_en/), which is a combination of the US radar network called Nexrad, and the canadian radar network and 3 mobile radars. The experiment will be conducted from February to March 2022 near Montreal, Canada.
